RSG: Trial Prep

Trial of Chairman Mao: Witness Question Sheet
Directions: You as a witness are to write four questions and answers in the perspective of your character using the book as a reference. You should find passages from the novel in support of Chairman Mao OR evidence against him depending the side of the case you are representing. Remember to USE page numbers and POST these questions on your blog. Lawyers, use this document to create cross-examination questions. Two per character should be sufficient.

Character: Ji Li's Mom Student Name: Vib

1. Question:
How have you suffered?
Answer: (include page #)
We had to leave Song Po-Po on page 87. Also then my daughter had to do the cooking as seen on page 90 and 91. Also da zi baos were written about Ji Li, it said she had a relationship which was not true. This was noticed on page 49. In addition our family was forced to destroy our ancesters things I made a mop from ties on page 96. My daughter also wanted to change her name. While my husband was away I got a Meniere disease attack. I got a yellow waxy looking face and if I opened my eyes I would get all dizzy. But still all I did was worry about Ji Li's dad. This took place on page 180.

2. Question:How did you feel when you had to destroy your ancesters things?
Answer: (include page #)
It was sad. All of those things were meaningful. They were important to me and my mom. They were beautiful clothings and the fact that we had to destroy our history I felt empty. this took place on page 96-99.

3. Question: Why did you not tell Ji Li her grandfather was a landlord?

Answer: (include page #)
Because her life was so happy everything was perfect and nothing was going wrong. Our class status was middle the revolution then changed it all. As Ji Li said her life was perfect for her. She really liked her life and if I told her it would crumble she would not enjoy life. She said she was happy on pages 1 and 2. Song Po-Po would pick them up and everything was just so happy telling her would not keep that. since we did not tell her we had to brake one of her dreams, becoming a liberation army dancer. Even then we did not tell her.

Flex Day Field Trip

Answer one of the above questions and add two points of observation or reflection from the day abouts the two places we visited (Sterling Styles factory and Up2Date apparel office). Also you can compose a question that you may have from our flex day adventures. You should post these three items on your blog page.
1) answer a question 2
) make two observations or reflections (or write your own questions that you may have)
Three things in total!
part one
Q5) What do you think the level of safety is here? What makes you think this?
I feel that the safety for the factory was pretty good. That is because there was very good lighting that was bright and would help if it were a rainy day. Also the girls did have their hair covered but some of them were wearing chains. I thought they might get in the way and if they did it could hurt them seriously. Also only some of the people were wearing a mask for protection from the dust despite the fact that dust travels around.
Another positive would be that all the machinery was labeled and had set instructions on how to use it. That would prevent injuries. Also all the working area was marked with yellow tape so not only would the workers would keep safe so would the visitors. In the factory there was a brilliant machine that detected metal so the buyers would not get pricked with a needle if one might have not been taken out.
So I would give the safety of the factory and eight out of ten, ten being the highest.

part two
1) I observed that the workers were well taken care of.
2) I also saw that men got higher jobs then women

Elliot's Expose

Blog response instructions:
• Answer the questions in complete sentences and use proper English
(restrain from using MSN chat style of writing).
• Use evidence from the novel to support your answer and include page numbers.
• When commenting to your peers, be respectful in your language and about their responses. It is okay to disagree, but do it in a polite manner.
When Elliot writes about his experience with the Jock Rots and sends it out over the KidNet, he includes the following quote in his letter.
"I think people ought to realize that stuff like this goes on every day…The rest of you are all part of it-because you let it go on and maybe you think it's funny, or you think it only happens to geeky outsiders and kids who are smaller or fatter or skinnier or don't have so many friends or so much money as you. So tell me-what happens when you don't have so many friends one day, or you don't have so much money, or something bad happens to you?" (91-92)
Blog Question:
What is the message is he trying to get across to his classmates? (6pts)

Elliot is trying to say that even if you aren’t the one bullying someone you still are doing a sin. That is by letting the bullying carry on and not stopping it yourself or getting someone else to stop it. He also tries to convey the message that you should not do bully because it does not feel nice to the victim. No matter how funny it is to you it hurts others from the inside. You should think about that what if one day you are in that position where you are being bullied and how that would then feel to you. Another expression Eliot tried sending through is that being a bystander who does nothing to put an end to the bullying is also known as a bully in other words. He even tried to say that from the inside we are all humans no matter how small or tall you are. If you are fat or friendless we are all the same. In other words we should now judge others by the amount of money they have or the size they are, we should judge them by their personality and acts.

Blog: Role Reversal

Blog response instructions:
• Answer the questions in complete sentences and use proper English (restrain from using MSN chat style of writing).
• Use evidence from the novel to support your answer and include page numbers.
• When commenting to your peers, be respectful in your language and about their responses. It is okay to disagree, but do it in a polite manner.
Blog Question: After the Bully Lab was renamed, the Revealers, and the stories of the three Darkland students were released and well received by the student body, Elliot wanted to publish Russell’s narrative about Richie punching Russell in the face.
1) Why was Russell so opposed to the idea (pg. 110)? Explain. (4 pts)

I feel Russell was opposed to the idea of putting the thing he wrote on Richie punching him because Richie helped him scare of the Burke and Blachette offon page 97. He was acting all nice and helping Russell. The main reason was that Russell though that Richie was being nicer now. He also said Russel could ask him question which took place 99. I also feel that Russell was happier with Richie helping him and would not like to send the mail out and have Richie bullying him again instead of helping the way he was doing now.
2) What is happening to the relationship between Russell and Richie. (3 pts)
I feel that the relationship between Russell and Richie was improving but not too much because Richie's bullying is also a way Richie is looking out for Russell because when Richie follows Russell he is near him and can be right there when it is needed. That took place when the helped Russell deal with the Jock Rots which took place on page 97, and then when he wants him to stand up for himself which goes through the chapter 'The Dumpster'.

The Real Me

Hi! My name is Vib. I love reading but not writing. I spend my free time reading a lot of the time. I really enjoy reading the Cirque Du Freak series. My favourite color is red but I don't like the color gold. I am from India but haven't really lived there. I was more in Sweden, America and Malaysia. Curantly I live in Bangladesh. So that is me. Bye-bye
