Elliot's Expose

When Elliot writes about his experience with the Jock Rots and sends it out over the KidNet, he includes the following quote in his letter.
"I think people ought to realize that stuff like this goes on every day…The rest of you are all part of it-because you let it go on and maybe you think it's funny, or you think it only happens to geeky outsiders and kids who are smaller or fatter or skinnier or don't have so many friends or so much money as you. So tell me-what happens when you don't have so many friends one day, or you don't have so much money, or something bad happens to you?" (91-92)
Blog Question:
What is the message is he trying to get across to his classmates? (6pts)

Elliot is trying to say that even if you aren’t the one bullying someone you still are doing a sin. That is by letting the bullying carry on and not stopping it yourself or getting someone else to stop it. He also tries to convey the message that you should not do bully because it does not feel nice to the victim. No matter how funny it is to you it hurts others from the inside. You should think about that what if one day you are in that position where you are being bullied and how that would then feel to you. Another expression Eliot tried sending through is that being a bystander who does nothing to put an end to the bullying is also known as a bully in other words. He even tried to say that from the inside we are all humans no matter how small or tall you are. If you are fat or friendless we are all the same. In other words we should now judge others by the amount of money they have or the size they are, we should judge them by their personality and acts.

Hi Vib,
I really liked what you wrote. Specially the line you said that we all are humans no matter how short or tall you are we all are the same. But i didn't get what you wrote on third line from the down. I think you were trying to say 'we should not judge people by their money or the size they are'. I think your blog was really good.
